- A: We are academics and researchers in the fields of Education and Child Development who identify as female and nonbinary.
Q: Who is eligible to join?
- A: Anyone who considers themselves to be a researcher or scholar working in the field of Education and Child Development may join. All members will have access to our materials, can send and receive emails from the listserv, and will be invited to our events.
Q: I identify as male, can I join POWER?
- A: Absolutely. You will have access to our materials and can receive the listserv emails. However, your information will not be listed in the public-facing POWER database.
Q: Is there a fee to join?
- A: No! This is a free service run by volunteers.
Q: I am looking for a speaker to do a research talk at my organization, can you help?
- A: Yes! Browse through the POWER database or search for a researcher with expertise in a relevant area.
Q: I hear you have a listserv? How do I sign up for those emails?
- A: Yes we do! To be added to the listserv, fill out your information on the JOIN page. Note that it takes a few days to process new enrollments.

- A: Please only sign yourself up for membership, but send them this link: Here is the link to join POWER.
Q: I'm in a different field, but I like the idea. Are there other efforts?
- A: Yes! In the field of STEM (500 women scientists), quantitative methods, and political science to name a few. We would love to make a growing list of similar efforts. If you are creating one, please let us know.
Q: I have ideas for an event you should organize, or a topic you should address.
- A: Wonderful! Please let us know by sending us an email. We are open to change and interested in hearing your ideas.
Q: I sent an email to the listserv, but it bounced back.
- A: That can happen if you send an email from an email account or address that isn't recognized by the listserv. Check to make sure the email you are sending from matches the email address where you receive listserv messages.
Q: I changed my mind and don't want my information listed on your database.
- A: To remove your information, complete this online form.

- A: To cancel your membership, complete this online form.
